As a Barclays UI Developer within Development Services, you will be pivotal in improving productivity by providing various self-service web applications, tools and automation solutions. The intent of the function is to "teach by doing" and will involveidentifying reusuable solutions, solving problems and missing links that will enable consistant engineering practice. There will be elements of Developer Relations, in providing technical guidance and engaging with the internal development community. What will you be doing Working with Barclays brand and design teams to implement and contribute back to Barclays UI standards Designing and developing solutions to accelerate the adoption of reuse and inner source good practice; searchable curated content, data driven recognition of reuse/contributions Growing and evangelising engineering best practices such as Guilds, and developing engineering communities Researching practices and approaches used outside Barclays for how they could be applied within Delivering proofs of concepts and experiments to inform future architecture and strategy Identifying current technology approaches and challenges that add friction to adopting the CTO technology strategy Providing support to design and development teams across Development Services What were looking for: Solid experience in designing and building user-friendly Uis in partnership with UX designer as appropriate Experience in Angular (8+) & JavaScript (es2020) / Typescript or or React 16/17 Modern UI development skills such as testing (Jasmine), SCSS and CSS Good written and verbal skills Skills that will help you in the role: Working understanding of various automated testing, continuous integration and deployment tools and practices; Knowledge of state management (Redux) Experience with Public Cloud infrastructure ecosystem such as AWS; Experience in supporting applications in the live, production environment Understanding of and experience of designing using application architectural principles and approaches such as ReST, SOA, micro-services, micro-uis etc Experience of developing with relational databases and data driven solutions; Experience leading an inner-source or open-source project would be beneficial Where will you be workingOur new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration.
