Job Description

The role of a Trainee Project Manager & Test Co-Ordinator requires the ability to deliver tasks under the direction of the Project Managers. The position will be hybrid in their Glasgow city offices.Client DetailsThis firm is a major player in the Financial Services industry, boasting a considerable workforce in offices scattered across the globe.   • Participate in workstreams jointly with the PM, internal stakeholders and clients, developing and maintaining productive working relationships and managing the communication with client contacts and other stakeholders
  • Coordination under the direction of the PM, all required client implementation testing UAT/JUAT/parallel/E2E as required (this does not include coordination of SIT which remains an IT deliverable)
  • Assist the PM with Planning & tracking - share and align key deliverables across all testing and requirements
  • Support facilitation and maintain testing tasks/steps in Quality Center (and runs books if required)
  • Assist PM in the co-Ordinaion of all resources to structure full and complete end to end testing
  • As instructed prepare and agree with all key stakeholders all entry and exit criteria for testing phases
  • With the PM set and agree objectives for testing which are coordinated to provide test completion
  • Test phase planning (tasks, durations, resource, dependencies) and effective tracking with each contributor
  • Risk, Issue, Assumption, management & escalation
  • Support the scope & change control management process
  • Structure Quality Center (QC) for all testing phases, including assisting with uploading test scripts
  • Assist in the gap & defect management and closure with relevant key stakeholders
  • Prepare materials and chair testing (not SIT) specific meetings: in addition attend, participate in any adhoc meetings (where relevant)
  • Engage with Operations, IT and Functional Departments (Legal, Risk, Compliance, H.R., Finance, Coverage and Product), as required
  • Report on progress of Testing UAT/JUAT
  • Produce defect report within agreed timeframe
  • Support testers during testing window (non IT specific)
  • Coordinate Test Script preparation
ProfileA successful Trainee Project Manager & Test Co-Ordinator will:
  • Support the delivery of assigned project tasks or small projects within the portfolio, ensuring adherence to group and local standards, following the BI&T best practice approach and control environment.
  • Support the mobilisation of projects with the direction of PM / sponsor in assisting the completion of business cases to be presented at the relevant internal forums (e.g. PPB) for approval. Interact with all key contributors (Ops. IT etc.) to secure requiredresource. Ensure all internal approvals (BAC etc.) have been obtained.
  • Support project managers to define projects scope, objectives and deliverables for approval by all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the setup and implement of project governance, relevant to its size and complexity. Manage working group activities and support facilitation of steering group meetings under leadership of sponsor and PM.
  • Support projects and PM with joint clients meetings, developing and maintaining productive working relationships and managing the communication with day to day client contacts, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist the PM in: developing a project plan and tracking activities against the plans, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Assist PMs in the facilitation of workshops with SMEs as required and define solutions and gap analysis.
  • Assist PMs in the identification and tracking of project risks, actions, issues and dependencies
  • Assist PMs in the project change control process to ensure project deliverables are realised within planned cost, timescale and resource budgets
