Job Description

We have an opportunity for a trainee Lift Engineer to join our Glasgow Branch. Stannah is a British family owned company, who provide elevators, escalators and moving walkways and manufacture stairlifts and platform lifts, we offer repairs and servicing 24hrs a day 365 days a year. The family is now in their fifth generation and play a hands-on role in running the business, ensuring the family ethos and values are maintained.The position benefits from the achievement of an NVQ in Lift Engineering within an approved timeframe. Working alongside our qualified Lift Engineers on modernisation projects, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours, gained from our experienced engineers to complete your training. You may be expected to attend our training centre and other locations.Ideal candidates will to comfortable working in construction environment, and will have a mechanical or electrical engineering aptitude, putting safety first. You will have strong interpersonal skills having the ability to communicate effectively with our customers and across all levels of the organisation.You will be committed to your own personal training and development; committed to actively improving own skills, knowledge, business awareness and performance through ongoing personal development.   • To attend training session or engage in other learning activities
  • To produce evidence, maintain your NVQ portfolio
  • To complete your NVQ qualification within the required timescale
  • To undertake an appropriate range of tasks suited to the current level of training and development
  • To attend training / learning events or via distant learning with LEIA
  • To take on additional responsibility and development
  • Complete all work-related documentation accurately
  • To understand and comply with policies and procedures.
  • To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.
  • Qualifications:
  • GCSE in English and Maths grade C or above.
  • Full UK driving license
