There are a number exciting positions that have arisen within the Recovery departments within the North Sector of GG&C. We are seeking individuals who strive to deliver patient centred care competently with an emphasis on service delivery. It is also essential you have evidence of continual development, good IT skills, good communication skills and enthusiasm for working in a complex care environment. We are particularly interested to receive applications from those experienced in post-operative care, or who have a surgical background. There is an expectation to rotate within all theatre recovery areas across both Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill ACH, participate in a 24/7 coverage rota and engage in cross site working within the North Sector. As a key member in this fast paced area you will require a “can do” approach. Within the North there are opportunities to gain and develop specialist skills within regional service surgeries and anaesthesia. These includes Upper and Abdominal GI surgery, Burns and Plastics, Specialist Orthopaedic and Gynaecology surgery. Within the recovery areas advanced respiratory and non-invasive skills are common place, Sepsis 6 and SPSP programmes to ensure safe and assured patient centred care. The Theatre & Anaesthetic offers exciting opportunities for staff development through clinical vocational course e.g. Anaesthetic Recovery Course and an opportunity to become dual trained within anaesthetics and theatre areas. As part of this team your continuing development is forefront with access to further education and leadership development with internal support with vocational modules via SVQ scheme and yearly grants available for conference contributions or Master programmes. There is a robust career structure within Theatres North. As part of the multidisciplinary team you will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care and the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients within the perioperative department. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC trained in general nursing or adult nursing. Opportunities are also available for newly qualified staff. It is essential you are a Registered Adult Nurse or ODP registered with the HCPC.
