Job Description

Test Automation Engineer (Inside IR35)A global energy company are looking for a Test Automation Engineer to join their team in Glasgow on an initial 6 month contract with flexibility to work remotely 2-3 times per week.The successful Test Automation Engineer will be involved in the creation and implementation of the Automation Framework including Knowledge Transfer for the existing Test Resources.Responsibilities

  • Static review of User Stories, Technical Designs (HLD & LLD and Business Requirements)
  • Creation off SQL Comparison Scripts for Test Automation using Business Transformation Logic using Databricks and JDBC.
  • Creation of a GIT Hub Automation Script repository on Azure Cloud FDP Data Platform use during Regression Testing Pre and Post project implementation.
  • All test artefacts preparation including, Data Prep, Test Environment Setup, inputs to the draft Automation Test Strategy and Test Approach Documents, Creation of Knowledge Transfer Material (How to Guides), Writing Test Automation Scripts appropriate forthe methodology and tool set identified in the Strategy including SQL comparison Scripts and use of Python for cross Platform/Environments comparisons.
  • Test Execution and reporting on defects, issues and any gaps identified during Test Analysis and Review of Business Requirements against the Technical Designs (HLD +LLD).
  • Retesting
Required Skills
  • Good experience of working on Integration middleware testing
  • At least 5 years in Software functional/ integration testing
  • Some experience of working on test automation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision
Desirable
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOpsrans
  • Knowledge of AWS would be nice to have
  • Must have Data Warehouse Test Automation Experience and ability to write Complex SQL Test Scripts for comparison of the Build v the Business Transformation Logic and Mappings.
  • Knowledge of and use of Python for Data Comparison Automation Source to Target
  • Dataflow Validation of the Business Scenarios Source (Landing) through the Middle Data warehouse Layers up to Report Outputs - Experience of working with Data Source Systems like ERP and CRM systems like Infor M3, Salesforce etc.
  • Automation experience using Cypress or Selenium
