Technical Lead OpportunityWindows Build Environment Tooling/PackagerLocation: GlasgowOur client is a leading global financial services firm providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services. The Firms employees serve clients worldwide including corporations, governments and individuals.Description:Our client is looking for a hands-on engineer to join their Firmwide developer tools and systems group responsible for shaping the development environment within the business by implementing the tools, systems, and processes used by developers in theFirm for software development and deployment.The candidate will be working with a global team of experts on providing tooling, primarily 3rd party, for use by the development community. These tools cover a wide spectrum, in terms of function, type and language. The portfolio of tools covers individualdesktop tools through to large scale enterprise client server applications.The position will involve evaluation, cross-platform testing, install refactoring and deployment of developer software. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for acting as a technical lead in the areas of software packaging, management, and deployment. Knowledge in Software Asset Management and Licensing is preferrable.Prior experience in the financial industry is not required; candidates from software companies are welcome.Skills Required:- Windows administration experience (Server or Desktop) and familiarity with application packaging and deployment on Windows- Application support exposure (troubleshooting and root cause analysis)- Hands-on experience with at least one scripting language (PowerShell / Python)- Experience acting as a technical lead or technical escalation- Familiarity with Linux systems- Interest and skills at getting to the bottom of things and understanding how they work- Good organization skillsSkills Desired:- Prior experience interacting with development tools (Visual Studio, Git, Artifactory, Intellij, Eclipse etc.)- Experience managing a team- Familiarity with software licensing (i.e., dealing with software vendors on licensing or familiarity with open-source licenses)- Experience using Docker and Kubernetes- System administration experience on LinuxSThree are committed to ensuring equal opportunities, fairness of treatment, dignity, work-life balance and the elimination of all forms of discrimination in the workplace for all staff and job applicants.
