Job Description

Supportability EngineerHybrid working - at either Portsmouth, Scotstoun or Filton Salary: competitive Permanent positionThe Atlas Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for a Supportability Engineer to join an established, worldwide professional team. You will be responsible for the review and analysis of the engineering data that is necessary for maintainers to supportthe systems and equipment that make up the platforms, managing this within Project toolsets.Duties and responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and analysing design data to contribute to the production of quality support products including maintenance schedules, technical publications, spares, etc
  • Conducting availability, reliability and maintainability analysis of platform systems and equipment to inform design decisions.
  • Conducting Reliability Centred Maintenance studies to create maintenance schedules for platform systems
  • Applying engineering knowledge and expertise to analyse the impact of engineering change, including the effect on availability, reliability and maintainability of the overall platform and its systems
  • Analysis of drawings and other documentation that accompany engineering change, capturing the necessary information within our toolsets so updated maintenance and technical documents can be deployed to end users
  • Collating and managing engineering information within project toolsets and databases
  • Investigate queries received by the project from Customers and key stakeholders, producing coherent responses that satisfactorily close out the query right first time
  • Applying engineering knowledge and expertise to analyse the impact of material from Manufacturers and suppliers on the support engineering solutions
  • Working across multiple programme teams to identify and resolve in-service or build supportability and data issues
Key Skills required:
  • Engineering knowledge gained through practical experience in one or more relevant backgrounds: Defence, Rail, Aerospace, Facilities Management, Oil and Gas, etc, or from further education at level 4, HND or degree
  • An ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of principles and/or experience in the application of Supportability Engineering
  • Experience in use of a computerised Maintenance Management System
  • Experience in the use of a Logistics database
