Job Description

Supply Chain PrincipalsWould you like to play a key role within Supply Chain for our Global Combat Ship teamWe currently have opportunities for a Supply Chain Principals based within our Naval ships business in Glasgow. Our GCS team is responsible for delivery of Procurement activities for UK and International programmes and having recently moved into DeliveryPhase its a great time to join.Reporting into the Supply Chain Manager, these roles are positioned within the Global Combat Ship organisation, responsible for delivery of Procurement activities for UK and International programmes. The role holder will draw upon Procurement best practice,subject matter expertise and LFE to lead assigned Procurement Packages within the Complex Systems and/or Modified Systems/Equipment Categories up to and including contract award and contract handover stage.In the role you will own contracts and be responsible for contract negotiation and tenders, front end of the commercial lifecycleYour main responsibilities as a HR Advisor will involve:Lead cross functional engagement to facilitate the delivery of robust business inputs to RFP/RFT preparationControl of RFP activities in accordance with appropriate legislation e.g. single source contractingPrepare Pre-qualification to the potential bidders, assist in evaluation of responses and prepare Bidders Lists and assessment of RFP responsesLead Contract negotiations including Terms & ConditionsPrepare all correspondence to suppliers and internal customers during the Route to Contract period with necessary input from End User, where requiredCollaborate and lead technical, Supply Chain & functional stakeholders discussionsPrepare recommendation for award and Notice of AwardPrepare the contract document(s) conforming agreed changes to the packagesCommercial management and execution of assigned pre contracts, including management of supplier deliverables, contract change activities, ensuring the fulfilment of documented business Systems deliverables.Your skills and qualifications:Essential:Previous experience of tender process, and contract award is essential for this role, ideally on a similar scale engineering projectCIPS qualifiedPrevious experience of owning and placing high value contractsBackground in engineering, aerospace, automotive or defence preferredWorking knowledge of the legal environment related to purchasing contracts and framework agreementsBudget responsibilityDesirable:Contract management strategy experienceCommercially awareWhat were looking for in you:Excellent negotiation skills, will need to be strong communicator, can work autonomously, ability to work with geographically dispersed teams and clients.
