Supply Chain ManagerWould you like to play a key role within Supply Chain for our Global Combat Ship ( GCS) teamBAE Systems currently have an opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager based within our Naval ships business in Glasgow. Our GCS team is responsible for delivery of Procurement activities for UK and International programmes and having recently moved into DeliveryPhase its a great time to join.Reporting into the Major Sub-Contract Programme Manager, the role is responsible for delivery of Procurement activities for UK and International programmes. The role holder will draw upon Procurement best practice, subject matter expertise and LFE to ownand deliver assigned Procurement Packages within the Complex Systems and/or Modified Systems/Equipment Categories up to and including contract award and contract handover stage.In the role you will work on a tri nation project placing multinational contracts. You will work with an experienced and dynamic team and will be part of global collaboration at its best. Our GCS team will enable us to deliver significant benefits and helpshape the future of the Naval Ships business.Your main responsibilities as a Supply Chain Manager will involve:

• Manage cross functional engagement to facilitate the delivery of robust business inputs to RFP/RFT preparation

• Control of RFP activities in accordance with appropriate legislation e.g. single source contracting

• Prepare Pre-qualification to the potential bidders, assist in evaluation of responses and prepare Bidders Lists

• Lead Contract negotiations including Terms & Conditions

• Prepare all correspondence to suppliers and internal customers during the Route to Contract period with necessary input from End User, where required

• Prepare recommendation for award and Notice of Award

• Commercial management and execution of pre contracts, including management of supplier deliverables, contract change activities, ensuring the fulfilment of documented business Systems deliverables.

• Handover of Contract Packs post contract award

Your skills and qualificationsEssential:

• Proven track record of development, implementation and execution of contract management strategies, preferably in a similar industry
• CIPS qualified
• Proven experience of complex/technical procurement
• Background in engineering, aerospace, automotive or defence preferred
• Working knowledge of the legal environment related to purchasing contracts and framework agreements.
• Budget responsibility
