The Staff Nurse position within the Brownlee Outpatient Department, GGH, is instrumental to maintain public health requirements where you will contribute considerably to the team to enable efficient Outpatient care & follow up reviews.You will be a Registered General Adult nurse who has acquired experience & training pertinent to infectious disease, immunization & travel clinic services. In addition to these requirements you will have the skill set to competently perform, venisection, IV trained and have the ability to perform necessary technical/invasive/ skills and physical aspects of care.As part of a team led by the Senior Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing care needs, implementation and evaluation to ensure the delivery of high quality care to outpatients with the aim to treat / control / prevent onward spread of infection.Specific knowledge of the range of patient’s conditions is required to facilitate patient education, maintain health & prevent public health outbreaks.You will be expected to support susceptible patients/clients through diagnosis and treatment whilst increasing awareness and understanding of disease amongst service users and providers. You must have the ability to work independently and possess confident communication skills to support this specific client group, engage with hospital clinicians and general practitioners to a provide excellent clinical link between the services, whilst ensuring confidentiality at all times.Entwined around this clinical core lies a responsibility of consultancy, teaching, audit, research and action plans.You will contribute professionally within groups which may cross-traditional or service boundaries and posses a high level of ITC skills including e- forms, Trakcare and portal. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Adult Nurse certified within the NMC and you have relevant specialized post registration experience.Shift pattern for this full time 37.5 hour post is core hours Monday - Friday as the service requirements dictate.This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotlands PVG Scheme.Informal Contact: Karen Mackay onor Details on how to contact the Recruitment Service can be found within the Candidate Information Pack.
