Job Description

Specification Sales Manager - RoofingJob Title: Specification Sales Manager - RoofingIndustry Sector: Lightweight roof tiles, vertical cladding, panels, sheets, local authorities, housing associations, architects, local councils, roofing contractors, tile fixers, schools house builders, Pavilions, hospitals, prisons etc.Area to be covered: ScotlandRemuneration: £36,000-£50,000 opportunity to earn £80,000+ OTEBenefits: Fully Expensed Audi A4 Car or equivalent or £600 per month car allowance & Full BenefitsThe role of the Specification Sales Manager - Roofing will involve:

  • Field sales role, selling our clients manufactured range of lightweight roof tiles, roofing systems, metal tiles, steel frame and rainscreen cladding
  • Majority of your sales time will be spent influencing local authorities and housing association specifiers
  • Remainder of your sales time, selling into and managing roofing contractors and tile fixers/ installers
  • Area has not previously had dedicated field sales coverage, so fantastic opportunity to make a name for yourself
  • Tasked with growing the area fro £600,000 to £1,2m
  • 50% of your time account managing an existing project bank, 50% prospecting for new business
  • Utilising Barbour ABI and Salesforce CRM system and dedicated telesales resource
  • Typically dealing with sales cycles from three to nine months and orders from £10,000 up to £500,000 (average £70,000-£80,000)
  • 80% of projects are regeneration rather than new build
  • Projects include schools, housing, garages, flat to pitch conversions, hospitals, prisons, modular or non-traditional pre-fabricated housing etc.
    • The ideal applicant will be a Specification Sales Manager - Roofing with:
  • Zest & spirit are the key characteristics our client is looking for (go getter with bags of enthusiasm)
  • Roofing industry knowledge
  • Open to previous roofing backgrounds "on the tools"
  • Contacts within local authorities/ housing association specifiers may be advantageous
  • Previous specifications field sales experience is not essential
  • Proactive nature, happy to get on the phone when required
  • Strong territory management field sales experience
  • CRM / IT proficient, ideally used Salesforce CRM
  • High level of ability in terms of numeracy, IT capability, communication & organisational skills
