Job Description

Senior Software EngineerGlasgow (Covid remote)FPSG have an excellent opportunity for a senior software engineer, combining; architecture, design, development and leadership for multiple projects.Working on a diverse range of projects, from website enhancement, to bespoke applications, from the maintenance of existing services, to the development of future technical solutions to support business needs.As a Senior Software Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Writing and maintaining high quality code
  • Contributing to various project and product roadmaps
  • Contributing to future product vision and architecture
  • Following software best practise and processes
  • Delivering innovative solutions across the solutions life cycle
  • Continually enhancing and building a deep knowledge of the product suite
  • Selecting, using and improving a broad modern technology stack
    • To be successful in the Senior Software Engineer post, your experience will include:
  • Current development experience in Java websites and web applications
  • Experience working with, RESTful services, JSON and XML
  • A working knowledge of Spring Boot
  • Knowledge of software design patterns in Java
  • Experience in leading design and architectural through SOLID processes
  • Exposure to DevOps (Gitflow, Docker, etc)
  • Exposure to testing best practice (JUnit, JMeter etc)
  • Knowledge of SQL, MySQL, MongoDB
  • In-depth experience with JavaScript, JQuery
  • Hands on experience of various Agile development approaches
