The needis suitable for an experienced safety case engineer to aid in the production of safety submissions for all major nuclear projects. This opportunity will be suitable for someone with a clear understanding of all safety principles in helping with the developmentof nuclear projects.

An opportunity for a Senior Safety Case Engineer with extensive experience in nuclear infrastructure is available to support our clients nuclear and defence division. This role will ideally be based close to our client’s Glasgow office, and there will be aneed for periodic visits to client sites as projects require.Your key responsibilities will be:
  • Taking a lead role in the development of the appropriate and proportionate safety case including Nuclear, Product, Construction, Process and HSE
  • Ensuring technical quality and excellence of your work
  • Regular communication with clients and other design team members and participation in Design Reviews, HAZOPs, HAZCONs, SHERAs and stakeholder meetings
  • Contributing to the development of designs for complex facilities, systems, and equipment
  • Adherence and contribution to business and quality management systems
  • Operational and design safety, and developing good safety culture
Your Experience and Qualifications will include:
  • You will have a University degree (hons) in technical discipline with extensive post-graduation experience
  • Ideally you will be a chartered engineer in technical discipline with post charter experience in safety case role
  • You will need firsthand experience of development of the appropriate and proportionate safety case including nuclear, product, construction, process and HSE
Other experience required includes
  • High Technical quality of work
  • Previous participation in Design reviews, HAZOPs, HAZCONs, SHERAs
  • Certified HAZOP chairman
  • Working knowledge of MOD standards for development of safety justification
  • An understanding of the principles of safety as applied on both military and civilian applications
  • Working knowledge of key legislation, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience in delivering safety case documentation
  • Ability to produce safety case documentation to a high standard
  • Ability to work as part of a team, liaising directly with clients and other design team members
