The Role & ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Pricing Analyst (Modelling) role will ensure the provision of models and tools necessary to support the Consumer Lending Pricing Team. This will be achieved through the maintenance and development of our SAS and Excel (VBA) based pricing toolsand will include taking ownership of the data processing code behind the production of these tools.It will also involve supporting the maintenance and development of the statistical forecasting models supporting the business, including demand models and prepayment models. As such a developed technical skillset will be required, as well as an understandingof analytical techniques such as segmentation and logistic regression.To ensure the models can be effectively used and understood within the business, a deep understanding of our products, markets and customers will need to be gained in role, which will ensure our products deliver both commercially and for our customers.
  • Maintaining and developing financial and statistical models; enhancing our capability to forecast the demand for, and the profitability of, our products under different pricing scenarios
  • Analysing the Consumer Lending portfolio to better understand our customers, distribution, performance, and products and generate actionable insights
  • Providing analytical support for Post Implementation Reviews of pricing change
  • Preparation of Committee pricing presentation
  • Having the ability to work in a flexible team environment that demands excellence, reliability, and accuracy to meet tight, and competing, deadlines
  • Assisting in the development of pricing strategies for Consumer lending product lines and for new products and propositions
  • Identifying risks and opportunities and taking appropriate action to mitigate or maximise accordingly
  • Reporting all issues of regulatory concern to the CRO, Compliance and Legal Department
The Person
  • Bachelors or Masters in a numerical subject desirable
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a relevant analytics role
  • Developed analytical, SAS and Excel skills, with statistical modelling or forecasting experience
  • Pricing experience desirable, or relevant expertise gained in finance, insurance or commercial role
  • Highly developed computer literacy, particularly in the use of Excel, MS Office, PowerPoint
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and technical abilities
  • Competence with SAS and SQL, experience with Python or VBA desirable
  • Statistical modelling or forecasting experience - e.g., regression, logistic regression, segmentation
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic "can do" attitude
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Self-starter with a passion for data
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a flexible term
