Job Description

The Senior Internal Auditor is required to perform complex operational and financial internal audit work, taking the lead on areas of larger audits, or managing smaller projects or investigations as delegated. This involves supporting the Head of InternalAudit with the planning, fieldwork, reporting and follow-up on internal audit projects.Client DetailsOur client is a reputable player in the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain sector. With a workforce exceeding 1,000 employees, they have a significant influence on the industry. The organisation operates from numerous locations across the UK.Description

  • Oversee internal audits within the company.
  • Analyse and evaluate accounting documentation, reports, data, flowcharts etc.
  • Prepare and present reports that reflect the audits results.
  • Coordinate with the team to review systems and procedures, ensuring financial reporting and record-keeping compliance.
  • Organise follow-up audits to monitor management interventions.
  • Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding the industrys rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards.
  • Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure legality, efficiency and profitability of business operations.
  • Identify areas of financial and administrative functions that need improvement.
Profile· The Senior Internal Auditor must have experience of risk-based auditing techniques, excellent communication skills and the personality to gain the confidence of senior management. Prior experience of working with SAP would be desirable but not essential.Must have a thorough understanding of business control processes and procedures.· Program assurance experience is advantageous.· Strong analytical abilities and time management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects efficiently and effectively.· Motivated with strong inter-personal and communication skills.· Ability to gain the confidence and respect of management and staff.Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience of ERP systems such as SAP is advantageous.· Educated to BA, BSc degree standard or equivalent· Recognised auditing or finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIA etc.· At least four years previous experience in either Internal Audit or External Audit.· Experience auditing financial and operational controls.· Experience working for a top 10 accountancy practice, or large privately held company, or publicly listed organisation is preferred.· Fluent EnglishFull driving licenseJob Offer
