Job Description

As a Barclays Senior Full Stack Developer, youll work in and contribute to an application development team in Risk, Finance, and Treasury Technology, contributing to team projects and developing individual .NET applications and services. Youll work withautomation in an agile framework to deliver high quality applications when the business needs them. Youll integrate with 3rd party applications to reuse functionality and data. We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may chooseto spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager. What will you be doing Designing, developing and delivering innovative and tactical solutions to benefit the finance community. Working closely with onshore and offshore developers within an agile environment to deliver on time to plan and on budget. Working to and contribute to overall application design, translating business requirements into technical designs that can be used to effectively build applications. Understanding the current application architecture and roadmap; ensure all solutions are developed according to standards and best practice. Continually striving to develop yourself and stay abreast of new technologies and emerging methodologies. Independently identifying repetitive or time consuming processes that can be automated, especially where they benefit multiple business areas. Identifying and resolving problems, working closely with the business and support teams. Being able to contribute to status updates, and own risk or issues to give early visibility of problems. What were looking for: Excellent working knowledge of .NET Core/C#/Web API and SQL Server Excellent knowledge of best practise object oriented programming techniques and concepts (e.g. software design patterns, SOA, n-tier architecture); Excellent team worker with curiosity and desire to learn and improve themselves and the environment in which they work; Automated testing techniques and tools. Skills that will help you in the role: Qualification to Bachelor degree in a technical discipline (e.g. Maths, Physics, Computer Science); Experience working with DevOps toolchain technologies (e.g. stash, Jenkins) Demonstrable working knowledge of the following technologies: Angular 7 or above, REST API, HTML, JSON, TypScript and CSS Knowledge and understanding of end-to-end software development lifecycle especially agile software development techniques; Where will you be workingOur new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration.
