You can view our YouTube video to see more about our workJob descriptionThe ChallengeThis interesting role centres around the contract management of a large facilities management contract for support of the Defence Training Estate, providing essential services to support Defence and its people and enabling a safe place to train. This contract includes both hard and soft facilities management and other bespoke areas. We are looking for an experienced commercial professional preferably some experience of commercial/contract management. An awareness of public procurement and assurance (or a willingness to study) is also required as a large part of the role will be managing the Industry Partner and representing the Commercial Directorate at various meetings and forums. You will be the key commercial contact point for the DIO Training Estate management team, the Army customer and the Industry Partner, and be part of a unique and rewarding contract. Some travel will be required to UK locations - customer and Industry Partner Head Office locations are based in South West of England We are having a 30 minute open surgery so you can ask questions about this vacancy.Please call us on Friday 26th February @17:00 Phone Number +44 (0) Conference ID: 33509072#ResponsibilitiesMain Responsibilities• Provide Commercial contract management and advice/assurance to the DIO Training Estate Head Office management team and to DIO Regional Training Estate Teams. • Assurance and monitoring of contractor performance to ensure compliance with the contract and Value for Money. • Manage contract changes, Additional Work Tasks and approvals within own delegation. • Build and support productive, professional relationships with Training Estate Stakeholders and Industry Partner. Hold both Supplier and Customers accountable for living up to their Contractual commitments. Resolve disputes effectively and efficiently. • Drafting, development and maintenance of commercial strategy documentation • Review contractual documentation and advise manager on commercial/contract implications of issues/events. • Provide advice on contractor/supplier costs & contract management activity internally and externally. • Maintain Continual Professional Development. • Management of one staff member • Report & brief Commercial issues clearly and effectively to senior DIO Commercial Management Essential Criteria1. Commercial experience 2. Contract management, including risk, performance and change management. 3. Working within complex multi-stakeholder contract environment, including managing relationships at all levels and communications with differing stakeholders. 4. Excellent written and verbal communication skill Desirable Experience & SkillsSkill: Awareness or application of public sector procurement rules. Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly analyse info and draw conclusions. Experience: Contract Management/Procurement experience in public sector Strong negotiator with experience in resolving contractual issues and disputes Membership: MCIPS (or confirmation to study to complete level 4 foundation diploma within two years) LocationDIO Commercial Teams are based across the UK including East of England, East and West Midlands, South East of England, North East England & Scotland. We offer a flexible base location for this role including Glasgow, Newcastle, Wyton and Warminster. If it is not possible to make one of these locations your duty station, we will look to assign an alternative MOD establishment.
