This team works closely with clients across a range of delivery teams as intelligent decision makers and subject matter experts. By ensuring military equipment is Safe to Operate with world leading capabilities,this team makes a big difference to projects integral to supporting our Armed Forces!In ITS, we provide support to a huge variety of projects from combat aircraft and armoured vehicles to submarines, body armour and aircraft carriers. Joining this team will help you become a go-to expert, contributing vital expertise to help DE&S to managesafety risks across a breadth of high-profile projects. If you are a safety engineer who is looking to:- Influence safety decisions across the full project lifecycle, from design and build to in-service support, and safe and responsible decommissioning- Support us in continually identifying and helping to spread best practice across DE&S, promoting skills development, standardising process and increasing knowledge transfer throughout the businessthen we want to hear from you!Please note, that due to the nature of the projects involved, some of these roles will require applicants to be sole UK nationals.Responsibilities for Safety EngineerAs a DE&S Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:- You will develop artefacts/evidence used in the assessment of environmental/safety risk, and consider the implications of changes to equipment design, offering mitigation advice in the process- You will provide advice and support to colleagues, ensuring that appropriate safety requirements are correctly applied and delivered in contracts- You will develop and implement safety management systems for products, services or systems, as either part of design or in-service support- You will interpret and apply safety policy for the design and support of platforms and equipment- You will utilise your exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to offer all of the above services across multiple areas, including Maritime, Land, Weapons, Air and Submarines, ensuring that your solutions are understood and appropriatelyexecutedWhat you will be assessed againstTo be successful with your application you must demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:
