Job Description

Role is working closely with business line Risk and Control teams across the 1st and 2nd Lines of Defence as well as functionally aligned control teams, Risk Owners and Group Governance and Controls. You will develop strong and productive working relationships with senior Front Office management to ensure they understand their risks and have controls and processes in place to manage those risks.Role / Description:Developing strong and productive working relationships with Front Office management to ensure they understand their risks and have controls and processes in place

  • Building and developing relationships with key Vertical, Horizontal and 1 /2 / 3 Lines of Defence stakeholders to drive the Control Framework agenda
  • You will ensure control agenda is firmly embedded in the Business for all existing/new products, strategies and business models
  • Working with the Risk & Control teams in providing opinions and views on the status of controls in the various asset classes across the front office
  • Supporting the Markets business units through tracking of output, issue closure, appropriate remediation actions in place, escalation through to the appropriate governance forum
  • Embedding of the Control Framework within the Business to help drive a stable control environment
  • Being a valued control business partner for the Markets business providing control advice
  • Facilitate and challenge the self-assessments of controls performed by Business Units
    • Skills / Experience:
  • Excellent understanding of Equities business strategies/products within a top tier financial institution
  • Strong understanding of modern governance, risk and control assessment techniques
  • Excellent organisation, planning and project management abilities
  • Strong communicator with excellent people skills
    • Key Knowledge:
  • Experience of working in a Front Office / Audit /Risk and Control environment within Investment Bank
  • Good experience of products traded within Banking and Trading business
  • Strong communication abilities with excellent report writing skills and presentational skills
  • Understanding of the market, credit and operational risks operating facing Trading and Banking business
