Job Description

Reservoir Engineer - GlasgowPenguin Recruitment is proud to be representing a UK multidisciplinary consultancy with over 500 staff members covering sectors including Traffic, Transport, Highways, Infrastructure and Water.The supportive team in Glasgow is searching for a Civil engineer to focus on reservoirs projects.You will support a team of engineers in the design of engineering solutions for existing reservoirs and service tanks, this will include designing water infrastructure schemes and leading projects to upgrade structural assets for water companies includingpipe bridges, footbridges, valve towers and access road structures.Experience:

  • Renovating of existing concrete and masonry structures.
  • Undertaking footbridge and access bridge inspections.
  • Demonstrable experience working for a UK based Consultancy and membership of a relevant Institute e.g ICE or IStructE.
  • In the design of thrust blocks, valve seats and other hydraulic structures.
Duties:
  • Design reinforced concrete foundations and interpret geotechnical properties on ground conditions.
  • Design reinforced concrete structures including tanks, channels and chambers.
  • Lead design teams in the design development of steel pipe bridges, footbridges and access road bridges.
  • Check technical designs and support staff when needed offering technical advice.
  • Managing projects and Liasing with clients.
  • Ensuring projects meet client criteria and dealines are meet.
