Job Description

Regional Investigation Manager (Northern Ireland and Scotland)£41,000 per annum plus benefitsFull-time, Permanent PositionHome based (with national travel)A leading industry regulator who are currently expanding and leading the way as an independent body have identified the need for a Regional Investigation Manager to join their Northern Ireland and Scotland team on a permanent basis.You will manage a team of home-based Investigators within the Inspections & Enforcement.function focusing on either regional or functional activities, ensuring national compliance strategies are implemented through risk-led deployment of the team.The role is to ensure compliance and enforcement regarding regulations (as set out in the Private security Industry Act 2001) rather than the criminal side of things, and you will conduct checks and investigate issues in the field within the region. A key part of the role is to build constructive working relationships with enforcement partners (e.g. police, HMRC, local authorities, etc.), including at the Scottish Crime Campus at Gartcosh.Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the effective development and deployment of the team to meet operational priorities, including the gathering and testing of intelligence and evidence
  • Contributing to the development of policies and procedures to maintain best practice
  • Deploying the team to conduct investigations into non-compliance with the Private Security Industry Act 2001
  • Confidently presenting evidence in the relevant courts clearly, cogently and convincingly
  • Participate in investigation activity, ensuring it is carried out in accordance with relevant legal requirements of applicable jurisdictions, rules of evidence and case law
    • To be successful in this role you will need to have experience of client relationship building and prior experience of both managing and leading a team. You will have the ability to use your own initiative and constantly strive to deliver excellence in work, demonstrating drive, determination and commitment. Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues, seek out information and to develop practical and creative action plans and solutions is key, as is experience of effectively gathering and analysing information.Knowledge of Private Security Industry Act (2001) and other relevant legislation (CPIA, Fraud Act, PACE, etc.) are strong ideals, as are knowledge of key aspects of employment law, company law and relevant financial regulations for businesses.You will need a flexible attitude to working hours with the ability to adapt to change and must have your own car, with the ability to obtain business insurance, and possess a full valid driving licence.Please note, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance to SC level as well as Non-Police Personnel Vetting level 3 for this role.Closing date for applications: Sunday 3rd January 2021Capita ARC is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
