Venesky-Browns client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, are currently looking to recruit a React Developer for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £400/day (outside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will initially be remote based. Responsibilities: • Our client require an experienced React/JavaScript Developer to help re-write the front end of an existing application. • Provide expert knowledge and advice in React Single Page Application development to the existing team of 5 ASP.NET Web Forms developers. This will be through a combination of producing front end designs and code, unit and integration tests, and, teaching / mentoring the team members in the React eco-system.• A major part of the application is its electronic forms capability. The contractor will be responsible for leading on the design and development of this part of the functionality. It is critical that at the end of the contract the existing team understand and can maintain this part of the application.• The contractor must follow our processes for source control, i.e. checking in to local SVN repository, use of Cruise Control for CI, etc.Essential Skills:• JavaScript, CSS, SASS• React, Redux, React-Router, Bootstrap• Unit testing of React code / components, e.g. jest, enzyme, etc.• Performance testing of SPAs• Source Code Control (SVN, GIT, etc)• Single Page Applications• Competent and self-sufficient in React Single Page Application Development, including writing unit & integration tests. • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, particularly explaining React concepts and design patterns.• Ability to fit in and work in a small team• Mentoring less experienced developersIf you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
