JB249: Racking Installer Location: GlasgowSalary: £20,000 - £26,000 per annumOverview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Racking Installer on behalf of one of our clients. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation of racking systems in various industrial and commercial settings. The ideal candidate should have prior construction related experience, possess technical skills and demonstrate a commitment toensuring high-quality workmanship.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities for the Racking Installer:

• Install, assemble and secure racking systems according to provided specifications and engineering drawings. This includes pallet racking, shelving, mezzanine floors & semi-automated storage solutions.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols during the installation process. Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed to prevent accidents or injuries on the worksite.
• Safely handle and transport racking components and tools to and from the installation site. Verify that all materials required for the installation are available and in good condition.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and precision to ensure the racking systems are properly installed and function as intended.
• Identify and address any installation challenges that may arise. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to racking assembly or integration into the designated space.
• Work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with other installers, supervisors, and project managers to achieve project goals within specified timelines.
• Complete installation reports, daily logs and any other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Perform checks on plant/equipment under your control such as forklifts & scissor lift
• When required, communicate professionally with clients, providing updates on the installation progress and addressing any customer concerns or inquiries.
• The Racking Installer will work on various construction sites and industrial locations. The position may involve exposure to cold weather conditions and require the use of personal protective equipment.

Skills and Qualifications for the Racking Installer:

• CSCS Labourer card & Scissor lift licence will be required as a minimum.
• Relevant construction trade related CSCS Card such as SIERS Additional certifications or training in construction or related fields are advantageous.
• Experience in building racking structures would be advantageous.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in racking installation.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, working at heights and standing for extended periods.
• A strong commitment to following safety guidelines and ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and others.
• Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients.
• Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate and precise installation.
• Ability to analyse challenges and find effective solutions during the installation process.
• Willingness to work in various settings and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Excellent time management skills to complete projects within established deadlines.
• Training will be provided to the successful candidate which will include CSCS / SSSTS / Abrasive Wheel / Power tools.
