Job Description

Enigma People Solutions is seeking Quality Engineer to join our client to help develop improved systems and processes at the same time as driving day-to-day continuous improvement activities.Our client provides custom foundry services in InP, GaAs, GaN and GaSb on 2”, 3” and 4” wafers, and have ongoing, active research and development programmes in various technology areas in partnership with private and public bodies. They also develop and manufacture custom and standard InP laser products for the FTTx (Fibre to the Home / Premises / Building) and PON (Passive Optical Network) markets and are currently in the process of ramping production to >1M devices per month. They are ISO 9001: 2015 certified and currently employ 70 staff in R&D, wafer fabrication and backend assembly & test at their facility near Glasgow.In this role you will provide direct support to operations and engineering in quality related matters, carry out and report on supplier quality and customer quality activities and maintain and improve quality system processes.Responsibilities

  • Work with operations and engineering functions to ensure compliance to quality standards
  • Work with manufacturing and engineering functions to improve quality and timeliness of Corrective Action activities
  • Support supplier quality audit and quality improvement activities
  • Support internal quality audit activities
  • Support document control and calibration activities
  • Maintain and improve data collection and KPIs for quality activities
  • Maintain and improve quality system processes and procedures
  • Specific RequirementsEssential:
  • HND or equivalent experience in a relevant industry (Hi-tech/pharma)
  • Experience in a similar role in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience implementing and using continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma/5S etc.)
  • Experience using structured problem solving methods and quality toolkit
  • ISO9001:2015 and/or internal auditor training and experience
  • Proficiency in common software packages, particularly Microsoft Office
  • Good understanding of data analysis
  • Desirable:
  • Basic knowledge of the fabrication and operation of semiconductor devices
  • Knowledge and experience of IATF 16949 quality management system
