Job Description

Our Client is a speciality supplier of raw materials and chemicals to the UK Manufacturing Industry. They are now seeking a Quality Assistant. This position will be based in Glasgow and is a full-time permanent role.Job Purpose

  • This is a key support role, with a strong administrative bias, responsible for providing support to the Site Manager in the smooth and efficient operation of the technical / quality and compliance functions
  • To act as an agent for change and seek to continuously improve operational and quality practices
Key Responsibilities
  • Implementing and monitoring compliance of the QMS
  • Enhancing customer experience
  • Responsible for all day-to-day quality compliance issues and resolving any process anomalies
  • Investigation and coordinating customer complaints, including customer responses
  • Reporting and trending data and putting improvement actions in place
  • Responsibility for running audit system, allocating audits and ensuring they are carried out
  • Chairing customer audits and bringing in other members of staff as necessary
  • Completion of internal audits
  • Agreeing corrective actions after audits and communicating and/or implementing
  • Becoming the Quality Representative with respect to external auditors and customers
  • Perform basic analytical tasks such as appearance, pH, specific gravity and other tests
  • Plan and prioritize the day-to-day workload in the lab, maintain archive of samples, maintain the laboratory stock of chemicals and consumable items
  • Being flexible and adaptable in working in different areas within the site if and when required
Qualifications and Experience
  • As a Quality Assistant, you will be used to working in an environment where attention to detail and time is critical whilst managing the needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Ideally, your skills and experience will derive from a similar role within Quality, Food Safety, or Technical industry, however this is not a prerequisite as we would consider graduates (or equivalent) that can demonstrate relevant experience of workingin a customer facing role
  • Experience or knowledge of BRC and customer audits
  • Excellent attention to detail, data entry experience and a good all-round level of IT/PC literacy
  • Demonstrable communication and organisational skills with the ability to work to critical deadlines
  • A diligent and highly organised approach, coupled with plenty of initiative and proactive nature to taking on challenging activities
  • Ability to track multiple projects and work with others to achieve results
  • Good relationship building skills, plus the ability to work as part of a team and independently
