Job Description

Denholm is delighted to be working exclusively with our global FMCG client based in Glasgow who require a Project Manager to join them on a contract basis. Working on their global payroll programme I require a Project Manager with strong end to end project delivery. No previous payroll experience necessary.This role will be responsible for delivery of the APAC part of programme. Therefore requires someone with strong Chinese Language skills. This will require someone who may spend as much as 50% of the time working to APAC time zone. The primary responsibilityof the Project Manager is to work with the Business Project and local HR Teams and to partner with their global payroll provider ADP to manage the implementation of all elements of their global payroll solution for their next target delivery countries.Duration: 9 months initiallyLocation: Glasgow (hybrid - 2 days per week)Rate: £450 - £550 p/day - Outside IR35Essential Requirement: Chinese language skillsAs a highly engaging individual, you will be competent at working with a variety of stakeholders across different functions, markets, and levels of management. Having the ability to effectively apply project management skills and experience to achieve projectobjectives is essential.Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the target country or countries (for smaller deliveries) project on behalf of the Programme Manager and Project Control Board (PCB) within the constraints laid down by them.
  • Building strong stakeholder relationships across all levels to ensure successful management of change.
  • Working closely with the Programme team and Global / Regional / LOC teams to understand requirements.
  • Take ownership for the Project Plan, driving activity to deliver to agreed timelines and escalating to the Programme Manager where required.
  • Establish Project Teams and Boards as necessary, which may have global participation.
  • Apply best practice techniques, tailoring the approach according to the circumstances. Employ project management tools and reporting to manage the project and update stakeholders.
  • Proactive management of RAID log affecting achievement of overall objectives.
  • Lead workshops as required with the project team and other key stakeholders e.g., project definition, process mapping, customer journey and training purposes.
  • Stakeholder management and communication.
  • Confident in leading others through uncertainty, with the ability to assess situations clearly and accurately, ask relevant questions, detect potential issues before they arise and resolve conflicts before they threaten to derail the project.
