Job Description

Our client, a public sector body, seek a Project Manager for an exciting transformational programme.This is based in East Renfrewshire, for an initial 3 month period with potential for extensions.This role attracts an hourly rate of £24.92 based on a 35 hours week.The organisation is well on the journey of transformation around this programme of change with key pillars of People, Technology and Property plans to bolster the overall ambition of the programme.As part of the programme, the organisation is:Proposing to refurbish one of its main HQsIs in the process of developing an Options Appraisal of 2 offices, with a view to identification of 1 in which to rationalise and dispose ofMoving to a 6:10 desk ratio of approx. 1000 staffA strategic review of the locations of teams and the services operated from particular buildingsDevelopment of proposals around the implementation of a hybrid meeting technology experienceDevelopment of proposals to deliver a new corporate room booking systemA plan to reduce clutter within offices and the reduction in paper-based storageDevelopment and support of HR guidance/policies to support staff and managers working in new waysDevelopment of a Change Champion staff group to shape, influence and communicate the changes proposedThe above is the key areas of work activity, however, is not exhaustive.The roleBelow are some of the following key responsibilities, duties and expectations of the role:

  • To continue to develop upon the work of the project team around the development of a robust programme plan joining up 3 work-streams, understanding key dependencies, issues, risks
  • To work with People, Property, Technology and Communications leads to develop a programme of works that deliver upon the ambitions of the programme
  • Development of a roadmap to support the plan
  • Can see the bigger picture and work with the Project Owner in ensuring that plans align, tie in together and takes account of the detail of each plan to ensure a smooth implementation and transition towards new ways of working
  • Can think ahead and anticipate the supplementary questions posed by stakeholders
  • Can critically challenge and suggest new ideas and approaches that would enhance and strengthen the programme meeting its objectives.
  • Has had significant experience of a similar type of project that delivers upon property rationalisation, implementation of technology to support hybrid ways of working and the ability to support people through change of the scale and magnitude
  • Has experience within or across a property, technological and people background (not necessarily a professional within a particular field) but has experience and knowledge of working within a project that deals with these types of roles and professionals.
  • Has delivered a project or programme of a similar scale and complexity within the public sector
  • Has the end in mind, and can work to remove and/or reduce barriers
  • Can articulate plans and progress against plans to all audiences
  • Can work with stakeholders across the organisation, building rapport
  • Can take technical and complex information and data and transpose it to allow all audiences to understand
  • Has excellent programme or project management skills and abilities
  • Has the ability to anticipate supplementary questions and think ahead
  • Can break down problems and tasks into logical chunks to deliver upon a complex plan of work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Tactful and diplomatic
  • Can assert their views and be a critical friend to ideas and thoughts
  • Is able to influence stakeholders across the organisation at all levels
  • Is sensitive to the needs of services and the different views of stakeholders
  • Is able to work with stakeholders to build consensus and to follow a plan
  • Excellent Microsoft Office365 skills i.e. MS Teams, MS Planner, MS Word, Excel and Power point
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Effective facilitator and can keep to time
