Venesky-Browns client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Programme Planner for an initial contract until the 31st March with the potential to extend on a rate of £400-£450/day (inside of IR35). Due to the currentcircumstances this role will be remote based for the foreseeable future.Responsibilities:- Work with project and workstream leads and take ownership for the development of detailed Project and Programme Plans (Level 0-3) using Smart Sheet.- Provide oversight, guidance and support to the Programme Manager/Head of PMO on plan development and plan management.- Facilitate planning workshops as appropriate to drive identification of key milestones, the critical path, dependencies, and planning risks and assumptions.- Create, maintain and present executive-level MI for senior stakeholders, including, but not limited to, programme roadmap, milestone tracker, steering group and board reporting.- Create and maintain the relevant Programme(s) critical path(s) and other plan outputs to produce MI to inform and advise programme governance forums as appropriate.- Create and manage Programme dependency log and ensure visibility within plans and other governance documentation. - Provide challenge/assurance on developed plans, raising risks and issues the projects and programme where identified.Essential Skills:- Excellent understanding of PPM disciplines.- Knowledge of governance, controls and reporting mechanisms to an auditable standard- Experienced programme level planner - experience in developing high, medium and detailed level plans for complex programme from initiation to baselining- Excellent written, oral, presentation and facilitation skills and proven ability to provide high quality management information to interact and persuade/influence at a senior level- Experience of implementing and enforcing planning standards and processes.- Identification and management of key dependencies, risks, issues and assumptions- Critical path analysis- Dependency Management across multiple disciplines e.g. legislation, service design, workforce- Excellent ICT skills with proficiency in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word. - A good awareness of collaborative technologies such as Microsoft Teams, Smart Sheet, Trello and Miro. - Ability to work under pressure and to be flexible in working practices to align appropriately to the requirements of the programme.Desirable Skills:- Previous public sector experienceIf you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
