Job Description

Production Manager of OperationsLead and be part of a fast paced and friendly team in this exciting position as a Production Manager of Operations in Glasgow. Be rewarded with a highly competitive salary, excellent career progression and a great work culture.About the roleThis position based in the Glasgow GMP production team is responsible for management of the manufacturing shift and preparation teams. This key position is critical in supporting the delivery of GMP manufacturing projects to agreed quality and timelines.This is a key technical role within the manufacturing team with oversight of the cleanroom manufacturing operations.This role will directly manage the manufacturing and prep shift teams with supervisors as direct reports. They will set goals and objectives, oversee and manage training (specifically going through the process with Microbiologists) and oversee daily deliveryfrom the team against department and site targets and standards. This position will also interact with our clients who may wish a client visit on site.This key role will be a subject matter expert who will have responsibility for final department sign off on SOPs, Quality events, change control and CAPA. This role operates in a heavily regulated industry and GMP environment and duties are required to becarried out in compliance with all relevant internal procedures, GMP and customer specific documentation.The role reports to the Senior Manager, Production Operations and works collaboratively across site senior managers in Formulation Development, Project Management, Quality, Logistics and Facilities/Engineering to ensure efficient execution of suitably robust,compliant and safe processes aligned with client product specifications and EU GMP standards. The role is intimately aligned with wider production team members, specifically production project leaders, logistics and warehouse.What do you need to be successful in this role

  • Management experience, technical and compliance experience in a GMP environment. A focus on training and development team members
  • Compliance with established procedures within direct report teams and maintaining effective internal controls. Periodically review procedures and collaborate with wider manufacturing group to suggest process improvements to meet requirements
  • Assure audit readiness and presentation of manufacturing areas at all times; drive standards of area presentation and execution of activities
  • Facilitate and drive process familiarisation for operators. Strong collaboration (formulation development, production project leads) from this role is necessary to ensure efficient and timely transfer and adherence to production schedule
  • Review of batch documentation completion from cleanroom to handover to project leaders
  • Overall accountability for scheduling the manufacture team, prep activities and cleaning activities to ensure successful manufacture delivery
  • Management of cleaning contractors, including regular self-inspections of process
  • Accountability for ensuring production equipment in suitable working order/state of calibration. Collaborate with validation, facility engineers, outside contractors and other stakeholders to ensure shutdown maintenance periods are fully effective. Involvementin writing, execution and reviewing of validation documents
  • Compliance to GMP and OTIF metrics for all projects (personal and team delivery)
  • Ensure customer focus and escalation of any issues
  • Participation in customer visits and regulatory audits/inspections as required
  • Work with peers and direct reports to create an environment where safety, quality and high performance are core competencies
  • Embrace continuous improvement in all activities and helps others do the same. Recommend and implement methods that increase the quality of products and/or services
  • Designs and delivers in self-development activities and training of others
  • Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned in the course of business
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Technical Skills/Knowledge working in GMP and preferably CDMO environment
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a scientific background
  • Quality focussed
  • Minimum 3 years Previous Line Management experience
  • Project planning and the ability to problem solve
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking ability
  • MS word, excel, Oracle ERP
