Production Engineer - Application Support Glasgow As a Barclays Production Engineer - Application Support, you will be joining Group Technology Service Management team within Technology area. In your new role, you will be instrumental in implementing and using a hybrid of development and operate skills toengage across disciplines, applying software engineering principles to eliminate repeated manual effort (Toil) and create automated, scalable, and reliable services. What will you be doing • Ensuring the team delivers a professional, customer focused and high performing service in line with service scope • Providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to Team members to ensure that all objectives and commitments are fulfilled in line with expectations • Maintaining and improving application and software methods, standards, KPIs and SLAs across all ITS applications and software • Ensuring any quality management processes to the teams activities are followed, e.g., ensuring all methods, procedures and tools are robust • Developing and maintaining professional credible relationships with key stakeholders (IT and the business) • Recommending and assisting with developing improvements around processes, tools, standards and the overall performance and level of support • Providing clear ownership and resolution of incidents/faults logged against applications/systems to SLAs • Ensuring completeness of root cause for major/critical incidents, and where possible resolve or provide workarounds What were looking for: • Graduate/Post graduate degree in Computer Science, or related fields • Experience, primarily Run the Bank roles in financial institutions, consulting or technology companies • Solid expertise in day-to-day RTB functions with Hands-on/technical experience (high proficiency in windows, Unix, Hadoop, AWS and database technologies • Solid Senior Management, Stakeholder management skills, Project Management skills and knowledge of Risk management Skills that will help you in the role: • Experience of working to tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment with an ability to work in a virtual team • Well organized with excellent time management, able to work in a pressurized environment • Ability to comprehend the business context and communicate to users is more important over the in-depth technology skills • Service oriented and able to follow the processes in delivering the KPIs Where will you be working Our new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration.
