Job Description

Senior Engineer - Product Safety 6 MonthScotstoun, Glasgow Pay Rate £42.35 LTD - Inside IR35Advantage Resourcing are working in partnership with a global manufacturing company who operate within the Defence industry, who are seeking Senior Product Safety Engineer with experience of Product, Functional and Software Safety Management in large or complex projects to be based In Glasgow.Job Description

  • Performing updates as requested by the safety team and providing statistics as required by management
  • Undertake a range of Product Safety activities in line with all relevant project and corporate processes and any specific customer requirements
  • Facilitate the implementation of relevant Product Safety processes and production of deliverables
    • Duties
  • Provide support to the Function TA teams with the management of the hazards, risks and associated mitigations and contribute to the development of the hazard log and the maturity of information contained within.
  • Verify the quality of submissions to the Hazard Log
  • Produce monthly statistics on the contents of the Hazard Log
  • Organise and facilitate HAZIDs and review meetings and contribute to other HAZIDs when required.
  • Work with the TA teams and embedded Safety Engineers in collating adequate PS related evidence to support the safety case and acceptance via the Requirements and Acceptance Team
    • ExperienceFamiliar with rules, operating methodologies and Certifying responsibilities of:
  • MoD Naval Authorities or other Navys Safety Regulators
  • Lloyds Register or other Classification Society Rules and Regulations
    • Aware of formal hazard/ safety assessment techniques and methods such as:-
  • HAZID (Hazard Identification),
  • HAZOPS (Hazard and Operability studies,
  • FHA (Functional Hazard Analysis),
  • SWIFT (Structured What-If Technique),
  • FTA/ETA (Fault/Event Tree Analysis,
  • FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) etc.
  • Business Expertise (Requirements of the job for knowledge and expertise about the business rather than the technical expertise)
