Job Description

FPSG have partnered with a leading software client based in Glasgow City Centre who are looking to add a Principal Software Engineer to the team. This role is a new addition to the team through a mixture of growth from new and existing clients.Working on a modern tech stack, including Java8/11, Spring Framework, Microservices, NoSQL databases and AWS. You will be given the autonomy to introduce new technologies, lead projects, and introduce new methodologies to create great software.Role Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and deliver a number of complex software components for scale, resiliency, maintainability, and compliance
  • Develop unit, functional and integration automated tests
  • Carry out insightful, comprehensive code and design reviews
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring the team, promoting knowledge sharing and adoption of good practice
  • Identify appropriate technology and approaches, deciding when software should be written.
  • Participating in agile sessions
    • To be successful in the role of Principal Software Engineer you will have experience in:
  • Successfully delivering projects through the full SDLC.
  • Java (ideally Java8)
  • SPA frameworks (React, Vue, Angular)
  • Designing, implementing and debugging software components.
  • Working in agile environment.
  • Spring Framework
