Job Description

Principal Engineer Were looking for a Principal Engineer to join our Kier Professional Services (KPS) team based in Glasgow.Can you imagine a world without transportation links via land, sea or air Nor can we! Supporting the movement of people, goods and equipmentLocation: GlasgowBusiness Area: Transportation, Kier Professional Services (KPS)Contract: Full Time, PermanentWhat will your responsibilities beAs a Principal Engineer, youll be working within the Kier Professional Servicesteam, supporting withthe delivery of a broad range of Civil & Structural / MEICA related services in both Temporary and Permanent Works throughout the Kier business. You willalsocontribute to the delivery of more complex services byproviding solutions which are safe and buildable (in both their temporary and permanent states), above all other considerationsYour day to day will include:

  • Agree technical requirements of the client remit, ensuring it is fully understood, questioning, and challenging where necessary
  • Lead the development of fee proposals for review in accordance with Delegated Authority policy
  • Organise and lead the day-to-day workload of engineers and technical staff within the design team, ensuring technical compliance of the design to the remit
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and Company policies/procedures, including CDM Regulations, the Kier SHE Management System (SHEMS) and design Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Manage the financial and commercial aspects of the project with the support of the Engineering Manager and Commercial Manager, monitoring progress against, and ensuring the project is delivered to, agreed programme and budget

  • Chartered member of a relevant professional institution (e.g., CEng MICE)
  • Several years of postgraduate experience
  • Valid CSCS card
