Job Description

A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic Principal Clinical Scientist to join the Equipment and Dosimetry Section of Radiotherapy Physics at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. The Centre operates thirteen Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators, with a wide range of specialised VMAT planning techniques including SABR for a wide range of clinical sites, many delivered using FFF technology. The successful candidate will be based at Gartnavel General Hospital, Glasgow but may be required to carry out some duties at the Lanarkshire Beatson satellite centre in Airdrie, Lanarkshire. You should hold a 1st or upper 2nd class honours degree in Physics or allied subject. A recognised MSc in Medical Physics and a Dip IPEM in Physical Sciences in Medicine or equivalent experience is required. You must also be a HCPC Registered Clinical Scientist and should be able to demonstrate significant experience working as a Clinical Scientist with experience of a range of radiotherapy physics, and specifically, the use and application of Oncology Management Systems and networks, with experience in radiotherapy that includes a significant period of responsibility.Prospective applicants can discuss the post informally with Kirstie Brown, Equipment & Dosimetry Scientific Lead either by telephone +44 (0) or email Visits to the Department and to meet other staff are welcomed and encouraged.Details on how to contact the Recruitment Service can be found within the Candidate Information Packs .
