Job Description

Policy OfficersHome working/Edinburgh/Glasgow3 month contract£21.13 per hourMonday to Friday (37 hours per week)Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well know Public Sector organisation, for experienced Policy Officers to take on an immediate 3 month temporary assignment.Post is based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow with a degree of home workingYou will work in Scotlands Chief Nursing Officers Directorate, which provides policy and professional practice advice on a wide range of high profile issues including nursing, midwifery, Allied Health Professions (AHP) and Health Care Scientists, regulationof healthcare professionals and Healthcare Associated Infection/Anti-microbial resistance (HCAI/AMR). The policy areas all attract a high level of Ministerial media and public interest.Due to the nature of this role it is required for successful candidate to hold a Basic Disclosure Certificate ( or higher) issued within the last 12 months or be willing to apply for one.Essential Criteria

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with evidence of providing concise and accurate briefing, speeches and correspondence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage and be credible with a range of internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
  • Ability to analyse detailed and complex information; to present information concisely and use it to identify a recommended course of action
  • Planning and organisational skills, including proven ability to manage a range of competing priorities and tasks and to respond quickly and flexibly to new demands.
  • Planning and project management experience is desirable
