Job Description

Job Title: Planning Director (Renewables)Location: GlasgowSalary: Competitive A fantastic opportunity has presented itself to join a leading planning and landscape consultancy, operating nationwide. My client is seeking a planning director to join their rapidly growing team as they have taken on an exceptionally strong and diverseworkload. As part of the planning team you will work within sectors of renewables, transmission, minerals and waste and residential projects. A significant proportion of the work is in landscape planning for a wide range of development proposals and candidateswill be able to demonstrate professional experience in this area of landscape practice. Ideally, candidates will have a keen interest in landscape planning (LVIA, EIA etc).Qualifications and Experience:

  • MRTPI qualified
  • A town planning record
  • Renewables experience
  • Ideally private sector, client-side and local authority experience
  • Self-motivated and ambitious
  • Strong communication skills
  • A keen interest in landscape planning
Daily Duties:
  • Provide a professional lead on planning, acknowledging the close link with EIA/ Consents coordination
  • Take responsibility amongst the team for ensuring a sustainable workstream for the Planning & EIA Team
  • Strategic direction: have an increasing role in shaping the strategic direction of the company in terms of services provided, structure of the team and geographic spread
  • Contribute to financial planning of the business
  • Business and Commercial Development; Sector planning and management
  • Manage and develop agreed client relationships, obtaining good client feedback and repeat business
  • Ensure collaborative working across offices and the landscape/ planning teams
  • To have shared responsibility for marketing material and website updates
  • Sector Lead (On and Offshore Wind) (Planning & EIA)
  • Work through-out the UK but with a focus on Scotland
  • Staff reports; review meetings, appraisals, setting and monitoring KPIS
  • Deal with staffing issues such as under performance for team members
