Job Description

GCU work collaboratively with clients to deliver projects from inception to completion, producing high-end results while maintaining excellent safety standards and they currently have a role in Glasgow for a Planner working on the CityFibre contract.The Planner will be responsible for planning an efficient schedule of works by utilising information presented in the project programme. The role will be performed with a focus on health and safety plus operational and commercial performance.You will help to build the Future of Fibre by:

  • Walk the PNs with both the client and the local authority to determine if GCU can carry out its duties safely with the proposed route and determine any risk
  • Submit all TTROs and TTL permits to the local authority
  • Ensure all notices are aligned to all permits submitted
  • Create and maintain a three-week programme for the resource that matches the programme of works for the project
  • Liaise with internal TM dept to obtain TM drawings
  • Answer any planning queries from operations team regarding on-site issues regarding proposed route, TM constraints, council restrictions
  • Ensure the applications submitted to the local authority are of a high standard and accurate
You will need to:
  • Experience of working in a similar role
  • understanding of traffic management requirements and knowledge of NRSWA and TMA legislation is advantageous
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of MSP
