As a Barclays PEP Analyst you will be part of the financial crime/ PEP Hub team who are responsible for undertaking PEP and High Risk customer reviews for multiple business units. Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and High Risk customer reviews are crucialelements of ensuring we fulfil our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulatory obligations. The current Financial Crime/ PEP Hub team consists of teams in Glasgow and Coventry. What will you be doing• Gathering information about PEP and High Risk customers in accordance with Group policy and regulatory requirements using multiple systems and processes • Being responsible for identifying and remediating any gaps in client KYC information and obtaining through customer contact strategy • Investigating, analysing and recommending whether the customer relationship is within/ outside of risk appetite, for Business Unit representatives to review • Completing follow up activities such as Exits, additions to Watch List and raising of SARs • Building trusted relationships with Advocacy, Relationship Managers and Market Leaders in order to ensure consistent and correct decisions are made • Performing necessary training and keeping up to date with any changes to policy to be appropriately trained and skilled in order to effectively carry out duties • Ensuring all activity is delivered in accordance with processes, procedures, and the control framework in place • Notifying to management any opportunities to improve processes, procedures or controls What were looking for:• An understanding of Financial Crime regulations and policies and an ability to make recommendations for a customer case based on available evidence • Investigation/ review experience • Ability to analyse complex data • Experience working in a regulated function such as Financial Crime, CASS, AML, Complaints, Pensions etc. Report writing and making decisions around case prioritization Skills that will help you in the role:• Stakeholder management experience and the ability to influence others positively • Good knowledge of operational risk requirements and standards applicable to the relevant processes and procedures • Ability to work on multiple work types concurrently and to switch focus based on priority and business needs • Experience of involvement in change initiatives and projects, owning tasks/ objectives through to completion Where will you be workingOur new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration.
