Job Description

Payroll Administrator, Glasgow City Centre, £23k – FTC Until Aug 2024 Are you immediately available and looking to put your payroll skills to good useAre you keen to join a well-established company to help with a busy workloadDo you have administrator experienceWhat will the day to day look like

  • Liaise with internal staff, students and external bodies relating to all aspects of Payroll
  • Administer and submit forms for employees relating to benefits, mortgage applications etc.
  • Administer ad-hoc statutory returns as required
  • Maintain and update knowledge of the financial and payroll legislation through continuing professional development.
  • Prepare and process all payroll information in time for the monthly payroll including
  • starters and leavers, maternity absence and pay, sick absence and pay, monthly timesheets,
  • overtime, ad hoc payments, contract changes, bank account & address changes.
  • Update and maintain staff tax code records by processing P45 and P46 forms and EDI requests from the inland revenue.
  • Process bi-monthly payment runs for the visiting lecturer ledger. Input new starts and payment requests and process BACS payments.
Are you who we are looking for
  • Ability to input large volumes of data.
  • Experience of working in a busy office
  • Demonstrable experience of payroll administration.
  • Demonstrable experience of processing general accounting transactions and awareness of accounting principles.
  • Able to deal with confidential information.
  • Ability to work autonomously and to use own initiative.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise work and work to deadlines.
  • Ability to liaise with a wide variety of people operating at different levels within the institution and externally
  • Knowledge of the software ITrent (Desirable)
