Job Description

Packaging Repro ArtworkerLocation: GlasgowSalary: DOECompany: A leading branding and packaging agency.Role: To provide technical support to customers, generating accurate artwork and reprographics of an excellent quality, which responds to the customer brief, in terms of cost, accuracy, timescales and printing process, and to ensure administration pre and post artwork preparation is complete.

  • Create and amend artwork to customer supplied briefs/technical specifications and files
  • Ensuring artwork meets client’s brief in terms of brand consistency/completeness by artwork operators adhering to approved procedures/guidelines
  • Repro customer approved artwork
  • Check print ready files to customer approved/supplied file using digital comparator to ensure accuracy
  • Hands-on knowledge of artwork and reprographics using appropriate software with ability to use own initiative to problem solve
  • Management and delegation of day-to-day customer requirements, within timescale and budget utilising team strengths, offering support and advice
  • Daily interaction with Technical Director to maintain clear communication between all parties in the production of artwork and reprographics
  • Have the ability to pinpoint and discuss areas of concern at preparation of artwork/repro
  • Liaise with printers/suppliers on reprographic requirements/briefs if required to do so
  • Ensure good working relationships with all internal and external staff/customers you come into contact with
    • Requirements:
  • Ability to dissect design agency supplied files and highlight potential print issues
  • Experience creating print ready artwork
  • Previous experience working within packaging and/or labels
  • Adobe Creative Suite skills specifically Illustrator
  • ESKO experience - Automation / DeskPack / ArtPro - not essential
  • Full understanding of pre-press reprographic techniques over all printing processes
  • Proven experience of artwork creation and manipulation to a high standard
  • Effective prioritisation skills, leading by example to ensure deadlines are met, with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Communicate clearly with team colleagues and put forward suggestions to improve working practices
