As a Barclays Operational Risk Senior Manager, you will identify, oversee and manage the bank wide response to People and Legal Risks from a 2nd line (2LoD) perspective within the broader Operational Risk team. Reporting to the Director for People andLegal risks you will also lead the operational risk deliverables for six vertical businesses within Barclays - an opportunity to apply subject matter expertise (SME) and work with senior stakeholders across the business. We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. What will you be doing Providing oversight, review and challenge of specific operational risks, including risk control self-assessments, events and issues Actively reviewing adherence to the Group Operational Risk Framework, including associated policies and standards Working with the Group Chief Controls Office, risk category owners and delegates to review framework, policies and standards, providing feedback, reporting and training Delivering oversight and challenge to the business in relation to risk events, issues and audit observations to ensure a complete view of risk exposure is in place Providing risk content expertise across a range of Operational Risk activities and present recommendations across a number of forums and to senior management teams Ensuring continuous monitoring and escalation of material control gaps or red flags to Head of Operational Risk, Control Committee and to Horizontal and Vertical Owners Reviewing and coordinating delivery of Thematic Risks through engagement with SMEs across Operational Risk and the wider Risk function Acting as secretary for the Operational Risk Profile Forum, including the preparation of papers, creation of agenda items for discussion and minutes What were looking for: Significant experience in an Operational Risk environment at senior manager level Thorough understanding of operational risk principles, common tools and controls developed through experience in the banking industry or similar Experience of working with and presenting to multiple stakeholders of different levels of seniority Developed project management and communication skills, both written and verbal Skills that will help you in the role: Relevant degree level qualification or equivalent experience Demonstrable track record of solid team work and delivery, within and across departmental teams Experience of building and maintaining effective relationships and networks Detail orientation with experience of preparing papers and presenting at a senior level Where will you be workingOur new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration.
