Job Description

This exciting role with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clydes Occupational Health service will primarily involve the assessment and monitoring of the mental health of those referred to the service with an emphasis on how this impacts, or is impacted by, their job role or work within the organisation. You will work as a key member of the existing Occupational Health service and their multidisciplinary team in their delivery of a comprehensive service at a time of growth and development.You will be expected to assess, support and monitor employees to achieve and sustain a level of mental health and wellbeing with the emphasis on maximising their potential in work and in life.Assessment of fitness for work will also be a key element of this role in addition to research and development relating to the links between mental health and wellbeing and work roles. You will also be instrumental in promoting a positive culture of general and metal health and wellbeing whilst identifying opportunities for health promotion, education, and training on issues relevant to positive mental health. You will be an NMC level 1 registered mental health nurse (RMN, RNMH, RN3) with significant post registration experience at AFC Band 5 (or equivalent). Previous experience of detailed mental health assessment, comprehensive health and social assessment and also experience of alcohol and substance assessment and current evidence based best practice treatments and interventions is essential.An Occupational Health nursing qualification (or working towards this) is desirable.You will have exemplary communication, assessment and organisational skills with a positive and enthusiastic approach to this developing aspect of the service.
