NHS GREATER GLASGOW & CLYDEDEPARTMENT OF CLINICAL PHYSICS & BIO ENGINEERINGNUCLEAR MEDICINE/PET CT - GARTNAVEL GENERAL HOSPITALIMAGING ASSISTANTBAND 3The Nuclear Medicine Department at Gartnavel General Hospital is looking to appoint a Nuclear Medicine Imaging Assistant to support the Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging services.You will work in both the PET Centre and in the Nuclear Medicine department. The role is focused on patient care. You will be expected to assist the imaging technologists as required (e.g. cleaning, maintain stock) and to support patients in everything from providing tea and coffee, to toileting and helping patients on to the imaging couch. Following appropriate training you will also be expected to undertake cannulation and take blood samples.The Nuclear Medicine Department at Gartnavel General Hospital operates on two sites on the Gartnavel campus and provides a PET imaging service to the West of Scotland, serving patients from Dumfries to Stornoway. The department, which employs 32 staff, has 2 PET/CT scanners (one of which will be replaced soon), a SPECT/CT scanner, and a SPECT scanner. The PET service is supported by an on-site cyclotron (which is run separately).No prior experience or academic qualifications are required but applicants should be able to demonstrate an enthusiastic and caring nature and a flexible but reliable approach to work.
