You will be the national mammography training lead for the Scottish Breast Screening Programme (SBSP). As a key member of the SBSP the post holder is accountable to develop and manage the delivery of education and training nationally through the Scottish Mammography Education Centre (SMEC). Education is provided for the Scottish Breast Screening Programme and the Symptomatic Breast Care Service in Scotland and other parts of the UK and Ireland. And will lead SMEC in the national delivery of an innovative, comprehensive and coordinated education service that meets the current and future requirements of the SBSP and Breast Care Sector. As part of the education delivery there is a requirement to work collaboratively with a validated Higher Education Institution. You will work closely with the national Scottish Breast Screening Programmes commissioning body, National Services Division (NSD) and associated relevant national committees in relation to quality assurance & service change and delivery. It is a requirement of the post to inform and strategically support national workforce planning initiatives, developing training as appropriate. As a budget holder you have the responsibility of allocating resources, setting and managing the invoicing of course fees and expenses. The management of clinical trainers’ education and training duties and of the SMEC administrator / coordinators duties will be the responsibility of the post holder. Clinical trainers are based in West of Scotland and South East Scotland Breast Screening Services, liaison with the relevant operational line managers is required when organising training duties. You will be a member of the Senior Management Team at the West of Scotland Breast Screening Centre. You will have a Masters Degree (content relevant to the post), BSc (hons) Radiography degree / Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent. Post registration qualification in mammography and Teaching qualification.
