Job Description

Work From Home OpportunityAdecco are working with the Home Office to recruit a number of temporary administrators to work remotely for 1 year from home, although you will have to go into the local Glasgow office on occasion so must be willing to do this.This is an exciting opportunity to work within a new team that will be at the forefront of accelerating the asylum system to provide faster and more efficient outcomes to asylum seekers.Essential Skills - Are you a highly motivated and organised individuals with knowledge of Microsoft applications (including Excel), excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), the ability to work at pace with a high degreeof accuracy in written records, and strong multi-tasking skills, ability to work from different work streams.=If you have a current understanding of the asylum system or previous asylum administration experience that would be an advantage although if you do not they will train you, so you must be willing to undergo complex training .Hours: Full Time (37 hours Mon- Fri) Flexi hours. Core hours between 10am and 3pm with latest shut down 7.30pmKey Responsibilities:

  • Conducting high volume, accurate Asylum case reviews, identifying and assessing key pieces of evidence, to document the assessment of the case and assignment of appropriate routing
  • Provide evidence and support to operational colleagues
  • Liaising with key stakeholders in and outside of Asylum Operations
  • Managing correspondence, ensuring prompt responses
  • Identifying and processing Asylum administrative actions, such as Biometric Residency Card queries and background checks
  • Updating multiple key case working databases, such as Atlas, CID, and HOPs, with timely and accurate information. (training given)
  • Occasional attendance at physical offices; to process and scan paper-based case files, action post and correctly identify and store valuable identity documents.

Security Clearance: Due to the sensitive nature of the work, you will require CTC Security clearance. You will also need to have:
  • Resided in the UK for the last 3 years
  • A *current* British Passport or settlement status
  • NI Number
  • 2 x proof of addresses (all in UK)
  • 5 years full history with no gaps of more than 1 month
  • 3 years solid reference with no gaps of more than 1 month
Due to the nature of the work at the Home Office, the role can be subject to change based on the business needs at the time. Therefore, they need candidates with a flexible nature that can deal with change.If placed into a role you will undergo extensive training and the expectation is that you will stay in that role for the duration of the assignment, or a minimum of 4 months, before we can reassign you into a different business area.
