Job Description

An exciting, REMOTE (or office based if you prefer) opportunity is available for you to work for a fast growing and award winning, technology company in Glasgow. Our client is currently seeking a Mid or Senior Full Stack JavaScript Developer from either a Full Stack, Frontend or Backend background, to join their development team working on the current and the next generation of their products.The role will become a Full Stack JavaScript Developer position, so if you are from a Frontend (Vue) or Backend (Node) background you should also be motivated to move into a Full Stack role.Key responsibilities of the role will include

  • Contributing code and technical expertise as part of the software development team
  • Own new features from design to production release
  • Defining and ensuring that secure coding practices are implemented in all aspects of the codebase
  • Perform code reviews of other tickets when the need arises
  • Join agile development related meetings and interactions with the team
  • Be willing to propose and drive improvements to the software proactively
  • This role will give you the opportunity to work with technologies including Kubernetes, Micro Services, GraphQL, Elasticsearch
    • The ideal candidate
  • Solid JavaScript development background
    • Either:
  • Full Stack - expertise in Node.js and a modern Frontend framework
  • Backend - expertise in Node.js, Typescript, plus ideally GraphQL. MongoDB and Redis
  • Frontend - expertise in Vue.js, plus ideally Webpack and Vuetify
    • Plus:
  • Experience in API design
  • HTML, CSS3 and SASS (or similar) experience
  • Understanding of CI/CD, Docker, and an appreciation for DevOps techniques would be desirable
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate as part of a small development team
  • A passion for good user experience and well-conceived application architecture
  • Must be able to work in the Glasgow City Centre office 2 days per MONTH (once lockdown restrictions end)
