Job Description

Are you an experienced Microbiologist based in Central Belt of Scotland and able to take on a 6 month contractSRG are recruiting for a Microbiologist for a global manufacturer of health care products based in Central Belt of Scotland.This is a fantastic opportunity to join the company at a busy time for the business and really make a difference.Main responsibilities:

  • Microbiological analysis including but not limited to; membrane filtration, media growth promotion and environmental monitoring
  • Water sampling and testing
  • Ensuring all analysis and documentation are conducted and recorded on time and in compliance with GMP standards
  • Training of a junior Microbiologist in the team and supporting them in getting fully up to speed with the range of testing on site
  • Maintaining all equipment within the department and general lab housekeeping
  • Supporting with the transfer and implementation of new methods and authoring SOPs
  • Support with the validation of new equipment and methods
  • Supporting the Quality Manager where required
  • Assist in any quality investigations/root cause analysis and problem solving
  • Continuous improvement activities
Skills/Experience
  • Degree or equivalent in Biological or Life Science related subject
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar Microbiologist role within a GMP regulated environment
  • Extensive microbiology knowledge
  • Knowledge of SOP writing and validation of methods and/or equipment
  • Ability to drive improvements and challenge ways of working to help with efficiency and ensure work is carried out on time and in a compliant manner
  • Ability to prioritise and schedule workloads
