You will be the one who will provide the business customers a view of how the data is collected, stored, managed and integrated between other associated systems. You will have a lot ofscope to delivery efficient services, in line with the governance policies, and develop innovative practices for future need, and, as your role develops, the SSCL FSDC Transformation will implement new OEMM tooling and technology, and these technological advancementswill be knowledge transferred from the transformation team as they are brought to the business. • Data Governance: Establishing and maintaining the existing legal rules and regulations, provision of designs relating to the governance-operating model and their delivery
• Data Management: Monitoring the way data is used in SSCL, ensuring alignment with the governance model, observing the quality of the data and its definition
• Understanding the quality of the data in the asset
• Documenting, scoping, and agreeing requirements with the data asset owners
• Maintaining the "Information Supply Chain" from asset to customer
• Studying, reviewing, and mapping across data holding and interfacesStrategic input into setting metadata objectives and monitoring performance against them
• Construction of metadata solutions
• Communicating and evangelising the value and usability of metadata to the business in the support of business data decisions
• Management of the data harvesting process and recommending improvements
• Close integration with the Data Quality team

What youll bring:

• An understanding of data sets, how data is and can be stored keyed and retrieved
• Significant business and commercial experience in the handling of data
• Appreciation of a typical SDLC and applying this to a particular data holding
• Knowledge of Data Protection and GDPR principles and how you apply these to a business
• Competently interpret and generate conceptual, logical and physical data models using appropriate methods and methodologies
• Strong Excel skills, preferably with VBA/Power Query
• SQL Skills, occasional development & maintenance of scripts and packages
• Being able to cross apply skills into different technologies/methods

It would be great if you had:

• Software based metadata manager experience
• Experience capturing metadata form various asset platforms and reporting toolsets
• Experience of the business use of Data Catalogues, Dictionaries and other methods of storing metadata
• Knowledge of database systems and data definition language a benefit
• Linux/Shell scripting an advantage
