Job Description - MerchandiserAlliance Automotive Group owned business Platinum International Ltd is the UKs largest distributor of Automotive Batteries and Lubricants operating from 10 Depots within the UK and currently selling in excess of 1.8 million batteries per year. Our customersvary from Blue Chip organisations to National Fast Fit chains. As part of the Alliance Automotive Group, the business supplies light and commercial vehicle parts to over 36,000 independent garages, franchise networks and public services throughout the UK.Based in either the Platinum Glasgow Depot or the Platinum Birmingham Depot, we are looking to recruit a Full Time and Permanent Merchandiser to join our team covering Scotland and the North East or The Midlands. Working 40hrs/wk (8hrs/day) from Monday toFriday.The role also includes overnight stays on a regular basis, so flexibility is essential.Experience of pick/pack and distribution business models and understanding of multi-drop delivery driving experience will be of a major advantage, as well as any Motor Factor knowledge.Primary purpose of role:The purpose of a Merchandiser is to assist the Merchandiser planner with stock inventory of independent, fast-fit and group business customers. Within this role, Automotive products will be checked and handled to a satisfactory standard, you will be optimisingstock levels, stock holding and displays to ensure maximum profitability for our customers.Reporting to: Merchandiser PlannerDuties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage stock voltages and stock rotation at customer premises;
  • Develop the industry knowledge and skills of customers;
  • Deliver industry training to ensure the latest technologies are well known;
  • To ensure that all reports and paperwork are kept up to date in line with company procedure;
  • Ensure that all stock inventories are accurate and that stock results are in line with Company targets;
  • To ensure that stock picked for collection is checked for accuracy and is correctly presented;
  • Develop ideas in an innovative manner, liaising with other Company functions, to drive business forward;
  • Regular inspection of battery testing equipment;
  • Ensure all Health and Safety is being adhered to, personal protective equipment (PPE) is in full usage and that site rules are followed to a safe standard;
  • Maintain care, servicing and cleanliness of a company vehicle;
  • Any other activity as determined by the management team.
