Job Description

Maintenance Engineer Industry: ManufacturingLocation: Glasgow (travelling throughout the UK & Ireland)Salary: £34,000 - £40,000Hours of Work: Full-time (Monday-Friday)Overview: Hardman Grey Recruitment are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of our client. The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for checking machinery and equipment is running efficiently, performing routine maintenance, preventative maintenance,troubleshooting issues, and carrying out repairs.The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a safe working environment and following safety regulations.
  • Carrying out regular maintenance checks on equipment to ensure it is working properly and safely.
  • Keeping good records of maintenance and repairs which have been performed.
  • Checking and maintaining the spare parts inventory.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with equipment and following up with a plan to repair.
  • Performing safety inspections, lubrication checks and parts replacement.
  • Participating in the evaluation of equipment and recommending updating to new equipment if necessary.
  • Installation of equipment including mechanical, electrical and production machinery.
  • Coordinating with production and operations teams to schedule any required maintenance whilst maintaining or minimising the disruption of production.
  • Creating preventative maintenance programmes in order to ensure downtime and maintenance costs are minimised.
The ideal Maintenance Engineer candidate will have:
  • A background in the manufacturing industry
  • A strong technical background (such as electrical or mechanical)
  • Familiarity with equipment maintenance in the manufacturing industry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to travel throughout the UK and Ireland
  • Preferably 3 years of maintenance experience
